ENROLLMENT FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS
Enrolling mid-year for 2023/2024 or for 2024/2025 school year

Dear Prospective Temple Beth Sholom Preschool Family, 

We are delighted that you are considering enrolling your child with us for the next school year. As an enrolled family you would not only be joining our classrooms but our community. 

As you have gathered from our tour, we implement a developmentally-appropriate, integrated curriculum with a strong focus on social-emotional learning and inquiry-based instruction. We also include a year-long Jewish values based program including a developmentally-appropriate curriculum, which builds for the children as they acquire more knowledge and understanding of Judaism. Our teaching staff is focused on giving the children the skills they need to become inquisitive, thoughtful, and compassionate life-long learners.

Our school year begins and ends in mid-August in coordination with the San Leandro Unified School District Calendar, so that our students can be in a cohort with their future Transitional Kindergarten or Kindergarten class. This approach builds long-lasting relationships between children and families, which benefits them as they enter their elementary school and our own elementary school education programs at TBS, moving through the programs with many of the same families.

We will be posting our application for open enrollment on February 9, 2024. We wanted to send it to you first as you have already expressed interest to give you a chance to enroll before we post publicly. 

An application fee of $100 is due with your application. If we enroll your student we will additionally ask for a $775 deposit to hold their space.  The $100 application fee will be applied toward the $775 deposit. As is the policy, if your child remains enrolled through the entire 24/25 school year until August, the deposit applies towards the balance of the August 2025 tuition charge OR the deposit will continue to roll over if your child is staying with us another year. More details are in the application below.

There are two changes of note in the application for the 24/25 year. We do implement a cost of business raise to tuition each year to support our incredible staff and programming. Please note the increased tuition. Additionally we have aligned our calendar more closely with SLUSD, which includes a Wednesday start date to our school year. Our winter camp was a success and we plan to run it, staff dependent,  this year for the second week of winter break. More information on that to come.

POLICIES & TUITION RATES 

*SCHOOL YEAR: Wednesday, August 14, 2024-August TBD, 2025.

*Last day of school date is subject to slight change based on the release of the SLUSD calendar.

Adom Classroom (Youngest students)

•  Tuition is $1655 per month, 7:30am-5:30pm (drop off and pick up within these hours, drop off preferably by 8:30am)

Yarok Classroom (3 year olds, some mixed age)

• Tuition $1555 per month, 7:30am-5:30pm. (drop off and pick up within these hours, drop off preferably by 8:30am)

Segol Classroom (3 and 4+ year olds)

• Tuition is $1555 per month, 7:30am-5:30pm.  (drop off and pick up within these hours, drop off preferably by 8:30am) 

ENROLLMENT POLICIES

· Monthly tuition is billed the 1st of the month and due by the 7th of the month.  A $20 late fee will be applied per day to late tuition.

· We will work with families to set up online records and billing accounts. Tuition payments must be made through our online payment system via ACH or Credit Card. Credit card payments will include a small service fee, ACH will have no fee.

· For new students, a $775 deposit check is required to secure re-enrollment. Deposit may be    made by check or online payment.

· Provided your child remains enrolled through the school year, the $775 deposit check is applied to as a credit toward the August tuition at the end of your final school year with us. 

· If the child is withdrawn from the program prior to the end of the school year the deposit check is retained as an administrative fee and does not apply to tuition in any way.

· No prorated months (exception: August will be partial tuition months due to start and end date of the year). No proration for vacations

· Some scholarship opportunities may be available.

· Enrollment will be based on priority and available space. Priority is as follows

• Existing students

• Synagogue members (longer membership = more seniority)

• Siblings of existing students

• Families enrolling in both the preschool and the after school programming

• Full Time Enrollment

•  Available space

· We give priority to full time enrollment. If space allows and at Preschool Director’s discretion, we may allow for shared, partial-week enrollment.
